What happens at my first session?

Your first session is an assessment and intake — we will discuss what brings you in, your goals and what to expect from the process. Sessions are 51–60 minutes.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. All sessions are strictly confidential and protected under the POPI Act and HPCSA Code of Practice. Information is only shared with your written consent or in cases where safety is at risk.

Does my medical aid cover sessions?

We are contracted with most major medical aid schemes across South Africa. Contact your scheme to confirm your mental health benefits before your first session. We submit claims electronically on your behalf.

What is the sliding fee scale?

We believe no one should be denied care because of finances. For qualifying uninsured or underinsured clients we offer a sliding fee scale tailored to your situation. Contact us privately to discuss.

What if I need to cancel?

Please give at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged in full as per the Consumer Protection Act.

How does play therapy work?

Play therapy uses drawing, storytelling and play to help children express what they cannot yet put into words. Sessions are child-led and non-intrusive — children rarely realise they are in therapy at all.

How do I know if my child needs counselling?

Signs include changes in behaviour, school performance, sleep, appetite or mood. If you are concerned please reach out — an initial assessment can clarify whether therapy would benefit your child.
